Update Watch: Eye-Fi Firmware Update
A firmware update for the Eye-Fi X2 Wi-Fi Memory Card, a device for transferring images directly from camera to the web, has recently been released (19th November 2012) taking the version up to 5.0018.
(The current version of the Classic version of the card is 3.0301).
The key fix in this latest update is to resolve a Direct Mode issue affecting users of the Nikon D800 whilst the previous release v5.0017 (released on 23rd October 2012) added support for the 16 GB Class 10 memory card (unfortunately not yet available in the UK).
The firmware update is available through the Eye-Fi Center application, accessible through the Eye-Fi Helper utility, which also recently received an upgrade to 3.4.26 (Windows) and 3.4.29 (Mac).
The Eye-Fi Center application is currently on version 3.4.26 for Windows and 3.4.28 on Mac based computers.
