Windows 8 Store: Dealing With “This Application Wasn’t Installed” Error
The Catch-All
The next option, which is more of a “catch-all” solution, is to perform a Windows Refresh by opening the charms bar with the Windows key and X, then heading into Settings, and selecting “Change PC Settings” at the bottom of the bar. In Change PC Settings select “General” from the options list and select “Refresh your PC without affecting your files.”
The problem with the Windows Refresh is that it will remove any applications installed using CD/DVD which could be a pain.
As I find more information relating to the ongoing 0x8024001e error I will add them here. In the meantime, if you have any experiences please let me know in comments below.
Update to the 0x8024001e error in Windows 8 Store updates
UPDATE: Another recommendation appears to be to run the Windows 8 UI App Troubleshooter which runs a technical check against Windows components. In my case it found a few things relating to the video driver but it didn’t resolve the 0x8024001e problem.
