Get ready for landmark setting 3D on Christmas Day as the festivities build up to that special afternoon 3 o’clock slot – The Queens Speech.

YouTube: The Royal ChannelFor the first time the Queens Speech will be broadcast in 3D and it’s not just in the UK as the speech will also be broadcast on YouTube at the . The Queens Speech will also be broadcast in both standard and high-definition versions.

Some are likening the Queens 3D debut to be as historic as the 1932 Christmas Day speech where King George V first broadcast using radio.

Queen Elizabeth II made her first televised Christmas Speech in 1957 which gave everyone a peek into the Royal residence which was appropriately decorated for Christmas. She said, “I very much hope that this new medium will make my Christmas message more personal and direct.

The Royal Channel was launched, on YouTube, in October 2007 and has since clocked up over 40 million video views, of its 500+ videos, and over channel 100,000 subscribers. The Royal Family are also present on Twitter, via , although the Royal Family don’t actually tweet – at least not yet.

According to a BBC report, this years speech will focus on “service, achievement and the spirit of togetherness”.
