Summary:

It's a little pricey compared to other devices but it feels sturdy and certainly looks at home amongst the high tech equipment it is designed to charge.

mMini DC 10, 10W Dual USB Auto Adapter

The mMini DC 10, 10W Dual USB Auto Adapter, is an in-car USB charger – the kind that plugs into the lighter socket. This particular charger goes a little further than typical car adapters by providing two USB sockets with 10W Output in a compact little unit weighing just 22g. The USB Output (shared) is 5 V DC running at 2.1 Amps.

Innergie mMini DC 10Being USB means the adapter is compatible with a range of devices and the product description particularly highlights: iPod, iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, smartphone, eBook, GPS, and MP3 player. It is also backed by a 3 year limited warranty for added peace of mind.

The mMini is a nicely designed unit, with a gloss white finish, and a thoughtfully provided neon blue power indicator. It doesn’t come with any cables or attachments which is a shame (although Innergie do a 3-in-1 USB Cable which we’ll be reviewing later) so make sure you take the relevant ones with you.

It certainly does what it sets out to do and it looks good whilst doing it.

Innergie mMini DC 10One thing we have to be careful about, particularly when using things like a vehicle lighter socket, is fluctuations in power voltage. Fortunately, the Innergie mMini DC 10 also has power protection on its mind and includes Over Current Protection (OCP), Over Voltage (OVP), Over Power Protection (OPP), and Short Circuit Protection (SCP).

It’s good to see this kind of power protection addressed on products like this and hopefully other vendors will take note for the future.
