EFI Radius ERP Selected by Packaging Firm
EFI Radius Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system has been selected by Montreal based packaging firm Netpak for its folding carton, label and commercial print operations. EFI Customer Service and Implementation Strategy were highlighted as being key factors in the selection process.
Netpak sought ERP solutions in order to replace a home-grown system modular system which had become difficult to manage due to years of customisation required to support business growth.
“Currently, any changes we make to our existing system have the potential to jeopardize the integrity of our data,” said Daniel Filion, Netpak’s Communications Director. “EFI Radius will not only streamline our workflows; it will also allow us to maximize the return on our new state-of-the art presses and other equipment.”
Netpak also looked to streamline workflows to maximise return on its recent investments in print technology including a Xerox 700i digital colour press (up to 71 ppm) and Mitsubishi Press able to print up to 7 colours.
EFI Radius includes a Foundation set of modules including Estimating, Job Costing, Scheduling, Production, Sales Order Management, Purchasing, and Inventory Management. Add-on Value modules include SFDC (Shop Floor Data Collection) including direct to machine interface, Shipping Management, EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), and Business Intelligence amongst other. The Business Intelligence module allows drilling down of transactional data and the ability to perform a range of “what-if” analyses.
“With this workflow upgrade, EFI will have the opportunity to support and advance Netpak’s business with proven and innovative Radius technologies designed to make packaging companies more competitive and more profitable.” said David Taylor, General Manager, EFI Radius.
Additionally, as EFI aims to accelerate its growth into Europe the company recently announced the acquisition of privately-held ERP company GamSys Software which produces Partner (currently at version 5). Partner is an EDI solution aimed at the print industry.
