Otterbox and iPhone 4S Side By Side Test

As an experiment Sharon and I charged our phones ready for the start of the day – for this we both agreed to use an Apple iPhone 4S in place of our usual phones.

Otterbox Defender Series with iON Intelligence iPhone 4/4S CaseSharon used a mains powered iPhone charger whilst I used the micro USB mechanism provided by Otterbox.

We tend to use our phones for similar things, during a typical working day, and it was interesting that at 11am Sharon’s phone battery is reporting 91% battery remaining whilst mine is reporting 95% with 90% battery life left in the Otterbox. At 11pm Sharons iPhone was reporting remaining battery life of 61% (which is still pretty good!) but my Otterbox boosted  one was reading 91% with 24% left in the Otterbox itself. The following morning, at around 11am, Sharons phone has had to go on charge whilst the Otterbox powered iPhone 4S still has 70% battery available.

Of course, this comparison is pretty subjective as there is a lot going on in the iPhones, and we have very different tastes in apps, but hopefully it does offer some idea of the advantage of an additional battery – as included with the Otterbox.
