We have seen some pretty useful technology and gadgets recently so we thought we’d round up some of the best  in case you missed them.

Devolo dLAN 500 AV Wireless+

The Devolo dLAN 500 AV Wireless+ was the first recipient of our five star rating. The starter kit we looked at utilises Powerline, Wi-Fi and Ethernet technology to provide fast, effective, and simple to install, networking in the home. The 500 AV Wireless+ also includes a power socket which increases its usefulness.

We said “It was pretty difficult to find any issues with the Devolo DLAN 500 AV Wireless+ Starter Kit and as a result it is deserving of a full five star rating.”

Otterbox Defender Series with iON Intelligence iPhone 4/4S Case

The Otterbox Defender Series with iON intelligence is a case for the iPhone 4/4S built upon the principles of “Protection, Power, and Prediction”. The case is a solid performer with an integral battery that matches the power available in the iPhone 4/4S battery. A smart app can monitor usage and predict when the battery is likely to run low.

We said “Whilst other iPhone users are racing around trying to find chargers before their devices imminently run out of power the Otterbox powered iPhone is still going strong.”

The Snugg iPad Case & Stand

The Snugg iPad Case & Stand is striking to look at and holds the iPad snugly whilst bringing additional features including a hand strap, magnetic cover, and landscape oriented stand. The Snugg landscape stand has two angles: a low angle which is useful for desk based operation whilst the high angle provides a useful view for services such as Facetime.

We said “In terms of iPad cases and stands this is one of the better examples out there and has some nicely thought out features”.

Innergie Magic Cable Trio and 10W Dual USB Auto Adapter

Both the Innergie Magic Cable Trio and 10W Dual USB Auto Adapter set out to perform a task and both accessories do it well. They are nicely designed with the Magic Cable Trio supporting mini USB, micro USB, and 30-pin Apple devices for both charging and sync. The Dual USB Auto Adapter can also charge two USB devices at the same time.

We said “When operated in tandem with the previously reviewed mMini DC 10 Auto Adapter this combination makes quite the pair and one that is surely going to find a place in many a travellers gadget bag”.

Olloclip 3-In-One Photo Lens for iPhone

The Olloclip 3-in-one Photo Lens sits over the corner of the iPhone and adds some useful features that are missing from the built-in camera. These features include a wide-angle attachment, fish eye , and macro lens. The build quality feels very high and it feels right at home with the quality build of the iPhone.

We said “Olloclip has become surprisingly useful – particularly the wide angle lens attachment. Olloclip is one of most useful gadgets we have seen for some time”.

HomeMonitor Indoor Internet Security Camera

The Home Indoor Security Camera from Y-Cam is a cloud based recording camera. The camera includes both wired and wireless connections and includes night-vision. Captured recordings from the HomeMonitor can be viewed using a web browser and can be downloaded for storage.

We said “The HomeMonitor Indoor is a nice little camera with a setup process that really holds your hand”.

Lumie Desklamp

The Desklamp, from Lumie, is a “SAD and energy light” – SAD meaning “Seasonal Affective Disorder”. The light area of the lamp houses 96 blue-enriched LEDs arranged in a 16 x 6 block. The Desklamp comes fully assembled and includes the 12V power adapter.

We said “As a desk lamp the Lumie is great. It’s large, feels solid, the light is bright enough to be used even at night, and the gloss white plastic finish with soft grey trim for the armature is very pleasant”.
