Windows 8 and Dealing With The Missing D3DX10_43.DLL Issue

World of Tanks is a popular online application at the moment which is likely to become even more popular when it hits the Xbox pretty soon. However, when installing on a Windows desktop computer you may run into a System Error when running the client application for this first time. For this example we will be using an All-in-One desktop computer running Windows 8.

direct3derrorThe System Error reads “The program can’t start because d3dx10_43.dll is missing from your computers. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.”. The error points to a missing file from the Microsoft DirectX system which is used for providing graphics to many applications.

Fortunately, this can typically be resolved with a simple update. In this case head over to the Microsoft Website and download the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer. This program downloads then installs DirectX components that may be missing from your installation.

Once installed your should be able to restart your application successfully.
