For professional audio recording when travelling – I rely on my trusty Edirol R-09HR, high resolution Wave/MP3 Recorder – if you ever see me out and about you will probably notice my Edirol close by.
The unit is a compact, and light (0.2kg), unit that records audio, either WAV or MP3 format, to SD card (up to 32GB), using it’s built in stereo microphone – and the resulting quality is very good – at up to 24 bit 96 kHz sounds. Other features include OLED display, USB 2.0 file transfer, preview speaker, and a high-sensitivity stereo condenser microphone built-in.
