Audio Drops Out Of Sync With Video When Using Lifecam Cinema HD
When recording a video blog using the Microsoft Lifecam Cinema HD I noticed the audio drops out of sync with the video, this can be frustrating as well as looking somewhat odd from a viewers point of view. When recording a test video using the built-in web camera though audio sync is fine (however the video quality of the built in webcam isn’t up to the same standard as the Lifecam).
The computer unit I am using is a Packard Bell OneTwo All-In-One and the video recording was using the USB connected Microsoft Lifecam running high definition (720P) video capture, Windows 7 Home Edition 64-bit (it came with the Packard Bell), and the Microsoft Lifecam Cinema HD. The video card in the Packard Bell is an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series running Driver version 8.692.0.0.
The first step was to check the latest drivers for the webcam, video card, and sound card. Once checked and the problem was still occurring the next stage was to search the Microsoft site for clues, the first port of call was Knowledge Base Article Q933310 however this didn’t fix the problem.
It may be worth trying the latest Microsoft drivers and you can get the latest drivers from the Microsoft Hardware download site at Microsoft: Download Webcam & Headset Software. If I find a fix for the problem I will update this article.
