Software development code hosting site Bitbucket has certainly seen some changes since its launch in 2008 and over the last few years, following acquisition by enterprise software company Atlassian, it looks as if things may be looking up as the service recently celebrated its one millionth user signing up for the service.

Bitbucket now plays host to over 80,000 development teams world wide and acts as a valuable central portal for hosting code shared by teams. Bitbucket also supports both Git and Mercurial  distributed version control systems (DVCS).

In celebration of this achievement Bitbucket are offering prize draw to win a seven-day trip to San Francisco to include a day “hanging out with the Bitbucket team.”, sounds like fun!
