Get Handy Information About Your XP Drives

From time to time a free utility pops up that adds practical value to my everyday working experience, Vista Drive Icon for XP currently up to version 1.4, is one such utility. To explain why, take a look at this image:

My Computer Drives

You may think it looks like a fairly ordinary drive list from the “My Computer” section of Windows XP – and you would be right – that is exactly what it is – it doesn’t tell me very much.

Although I have Vista Ultimate in my drawer I have put off installing it because I am quite happy with XP (Although I may well move to Windows 7) but there are a few things about Vista that are useful such as the drive space indicator against drives. Vista Drive Icon for XP fills this gap – take a look at the following image.

My Computer With Vista Drive Icon Installed

In particular Drive C and Drive E tell me some really useful “at a glance” information about my drives, in particular that drive E is pretty full and that Drive C is my system drive. The application is a 133KB download and the executable itself takes around 40KB.
